Build Hope for All
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam brought international hopeful forces together in Rome. Leading members from government, religious and societal partners and academic institutions explored the role of hope within societal challenges occurring in different cultural settings. The symposium started with a collective journey on the ‘train of hope’ from Utrecht to Rome and ended with the signing of the Declaration of Interdependence in the Pope’s Gardens.
The symposium is part of ‘The Power of Hope,’ the university’s academic theme for the year 2025, and the Jubilee 2025 proclaimed by Pope Francis and continued by Pope Leo XIV. It is actively supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to The Holy See.
